I've been decorating for about 5 years off and on usually whenever I can work a cake around my schoolwork and in the summer:) These are my favs for 2012:
The things coming out from the cannons are candles which were lit later
This was my favorite. I was given complete design control of this cake. The bride told me the cake was to be vintage theme with soft pink and cream colors. She sent over a picture of her dress, and a few other accent pieces for the wedding and this is what I came up with! Everyone LOVED it! I get to re-create similar designs again a few times for the 2013 wedding season,
Thanks for looking
A very beautiful cake & so perfect!
This is my favorite cake for 2012 because it was made for a very good friends oldest daughters wedding,( the first one to marry of her 5 girls), I have had the opportunity to make all of their birthday cakes as children so was delighted when the bride contacted me for her wedding cake. Not a technically challenging cake but was thrilled with how keeping it monochromatic allowed me to put her favorite elements together in one cake, and it fit in perfectly with her decor and colors. It was also the first time I have finished the board and am now a convert on how it truly does finish off a cake.
This would be my next favorite because it is always great to see the reaction from the teenagers that receive this cake when celebrating their 16th birthdays and becoming of age to drive.
Two favorites:
First is an anniversary cake. I was given a photo of the original wedding cake and told to have fun with it. Original was white with black swirls, so I reversed it and added flowers that matched the brides bouquet.
Second was a shower cake for triplets (the couple already have one son, the green little bird!). The cake took on a life of it's own and wound up over 6" high :)
