How do I transport a cake safely?  I have a modeled fondant shoe on the cake board as well and I'm concerned about it not staying on the board while I transport. I will secure it with chocolate but not sure if that's enough.

For the shoe you can put a couple of pieces of styrofoam or something on either side of it to keep it from tipping over. How big is the cake? Usually you can just make sure it's cold from the fridge and it will be fine to be moved around. Get a box that's big enough to hold it so that if anything falls on it the cake will be fine. I use the moving boxes you can get from Staples, you can find them that are tall enough for a four tiered cake if you needed to.
