So basically I have to do a presentation about cakes but I wasn't sure which area to do it on. I just can't seem to think of anything remotely useful... 

Can anyone help please? Any ideas at all would be much appreciated!

I would do my presentation on how much time and creativity goes into making a custom cake. A lot of people see the cakes at walmart and compare that to a custom cake. They are under the impression that we as bakers can just "whip up" a "small" cake (as if small is easier!).

I think it would be not only helpful for people to understand the time and creativity involved, but it would also be interesting to listen too. You could even have pictures of some different techniques and do a brief explination of what method you use to accomplish them.
