Anytime I bake from scratch, my cake always comes out a little dry, i've tried brushing syrup on it but it's still not as moist as I want it to be. Any suggestions?

what kind of recipe are you using?

I bake from mixes, but I usually add a tablespoon or 2 of mayo and it seems to help (the flavor is not altered at all).

if you bake from mixes, I would try doctoring the recipe and using buttermilk or sour cream (I use sour cream and get good reviews about the moistness). As for scratch recipes, I'm sure someone will have a similar answer :)
