I'm thinking the fondant'll be slimy if you eat it at the right temp for the ice-cream but the ice-cream's going to be a dripping mess if you wait for the fondant to thaw properly..

If there was even the slightest humidity in the air, it woud be moist and sticky as soon as it touched the cold cake as you were putting it on, and make it impossible to smooth and decorate.

Plus, I don't think fondant and icecream would be a particularly nice combination to eat.

I will only serve ice cream cakes with whipped cream as the icing - and fondant will melt on that.

What the others have said about thawing fondant is correct.

I did a happy birthday/ 4th of July ice cream cake with whipped frosting and fondant accents. That way you could just take them off to eat the cake icon_biggrin.gif
