I am doing a wedding cake and asked the bride to get the ribbon so that it was exactly what she wanted. I had told her probably 1.5" - 2". She got 2" from the bridal store and I'm worried it may be too wide. I will be using the SPS system so the cake will be slightly taller than 4". In looking at the bottom tier I think it may be 2" Will this look ok? Thanks so much!

The photo wouldn't show when I added it as an attachment so here's the website.

I think it looks ok, but if it were my cake I would probably prefer a thinner ribbon maybe 1".
I agree but do you think the ribbon is probably 2" on the picture? Since this is the pic she sent she knows the ribbon is thick.
I'm not so sure the ribbon in the picture is 2". Might be more along the lines of 1 1/2". Kind of hard to tell. I just did a wedding cake where the bride brought me some ribbon that I thought would be too wide (1 1/2") and it turned out fine. Am attaching a picture of the cake I did. There's another one in my gallery that's taken from further back...
The more I look at the picture, I would agree that it does look like it is 1 1/2 inch versus 2". It is hard to tell though, but if the layers are a around 4" in the picture than the ribbon would be about 1 1/2.
If these tiers are 4" high, the bottom ribbon is 1/2 of the cake height (2").
It appears the other ribbons are 1.25".
