I have asked this before, and I know that a lot of us do these kinds of cakes so I will ask again. What do you ladies charge for gift box cakes with big loopy bows on top? It depends on size I know so take an 8" square that feeds 32 people according to serving charts. I did one last weekend and charged $32.00. I am the queen of underselling myself so please help me come up with something . I still don't know how to charge for fondant decorations like bows. Thanks you guys.

I don't know if this helps, because I am also bad about under-pricing my cakes, but I recently checked the price on one of those already made bows (by Wilton I think) and they sell for $14 or $15 and I don't believe they are edible. Besides anybody can buy one and stick it on top of the cake. I would say charge what you normally would for the 8" square to feed 32 people (depending on what other decorating is on it) and add at least that much more for the bow. You know your bow will look much nicer and take more time to personalize than one you buy.

But that's just my opinion! icon_smile.gif
