icon_cry.gif I think i'm going crazy in my head I know there has to be a way...
I am trying to make flat animals out of mmf, I have pictures drawn up and sized and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to transfer the image to my cut out shapes of mmf (for a uniform look)....also, as this is my first time with mmf...i dont know how to store this, if I should mix it with gum paste...and most pressing of all, I want to paint the shapes, when and how do I do that? do I paint after it dries or before, and with what and how, food coloring?
can u all tell by the rambling that I am going crazy?
sorry for all the ?s but I don't know where to turn...any advice would be whole-heartedly appreciated...thank you

As far as shapes, I use a color book image or any image of choice and I cut it out, lay on top of the rolled out/color fondant and cut around it with a sharp knife. I gently lift the cutout and place on a piece of wax paper to let it dry. Most of my cutout images have been pieced together like a puzzle in different colors. As far as painting on MMF/gumpaste mixture, I've never done this before. Maybe some others here that has painted on fondant could better answer that question. And might I add, there have been some BEAUTIFUL paintings on fondant that I've seen on here too!!

Could you use cookie cutters to get the shapes you wanted out of the MMF. I have done that before, cut them out and they are uniform then decorate from there. Just a thought

thanks for the replies, i am going to try today...I know how to get the shape I want, cutting around the image...I just don't know how to "paint" in the image ( my husband is suggesting that we transfer it somehow) but i guess I'm going to have to free hand the design...I guess it'll all be trial and error...
