I have used 3-4 different brands of fondant and the same thing happens. I knead it enough. What could be the reason for the fondant breaking apart? how thick should fondant be rolled out?
With some brands, like Satin Ice, if you kneed it too much this will happen. You want to kneed it just enough to make it smooth and pliable but if you over knead you will get "elephant skin" or cracking. HTH
I think this just happened to me today . Is there any way to salvage the fondant after it's been "over-kneaded"? Thanks!
