I use menina all the time and just did two bows with it that were stripey,
I haven't uploaded them yet though as one just went this morning .
I usually mix some tylose into some white fondant, then roll it into a sausage and then I do the same with the menina in smaller thinner sausages . then I sort of roll them together lightly and then roll them out.
