I need to make a beer ale chocolate cake for a Marine who just came home. Has anybody tried the recipes from this site? Or have one you love? Thanks!!

I use the Guinness chocolate cake recipe from epicurous. I get rave reviews.

It sure does, just be warned, the recipe makes a lot of cupcakes about 3-4 dozen, and I haven't gotten it to cut down well yet. It pairs very well with Bailey's buttercream, too.

I use that same recipe for cakes and cupcakes. It works perfectly. A very solid recipe.

Make hime real happy by using a filling of Jameson infused ganache and topping it with Bailey's IMBC.

Some will recognize this combination but I choose not to use the rather offensive name.
