I am going to have fondant baby booties on the top of my daughters baby shower cake, but I am trying to come up with a way to have them on there without actually placing them directly on the BC icing so that she can have them as a keepsake. Any suggestions?

Make a circle of fondant and let it dry for a few days, place it on the cake, and sit your booties on that.

If you don't want a platform as the previous poster suggested,(great idea as you can dress the platform up with pearls or other embellishments) how about just line the bottom of the booties with card board cut from cake circle
