Ideas On How To Decorate 1/2 And 1/2 Cake

I need to do this cake (hopefully attached!) which is actually 4 tiers (14, 10,8,6). I typically decorate each individual tier and then stack, but I'm thinking for this one I will have to stack it first to get the desired angle to line up. Does anybody have any tips on an easy way to do this? The lined part is brown frosting the other side will be white. Thanks!

If im going to make this cake, i would cover the cakes with white fondant then stack. Then cover the half with brown fondant one tier at a time with brown fondant.

Thanks. It was frosting, though, not fondant. I ended up stacking and then doing the design. It worked out fine, though I didn't like the design the bride cam up with.
