I know some of you weigh your flour for the NFSC recipe instead of measuring out the flour in cups. How much should the 6 cups of flour weigh?

Thanks!

I think I remember someone saying each cup should weigh 150g. so, that would be 900g, right?

Hopefully someone will confirm whether that is the right amount b/c I'm just saying that off the top of my head. I don't have a kitchen scale so I haven't tried it yet but hope to get one someday. It sounds a lot more accurate than measuring! icon_smile.gif I have to say that I do LOVE the NFSC recipe though! icon_smile.gif

I weigh my flour for that recipe. I use 1# 14 oz. of King Arthur AP flour to 1 pound of butter.

I use 150g per cup that's called for in the recipe, so a full batch (6 cups of flour) would be 900g.

hth!

The website, www.PastryScoop.com has a really nice conversion option. At the top of the page, the ingredients are listed for you to click on to find the weight conversion.

I had thought that 1 cup of flour was 150gm, but PastryScoop says 125gm for unsifted flour. I've made them both ways, and the coookies turned out fine, but thought you might like to know if you feel you might not need all of the flour while you are mixing them. HTH!

Oops! Sorry! icon_redface.gif I forgot you have to sign up as a member, then you get access. There is no charge, and they don't bother you with e-mails, but I have found the site very helpful on several occasions.
