A Great White Frosting That Will Hold Up In The Heat!
Baking By lyndawit Updated 24 May 2012 , 7:45pm by SanDiegoBeautifulCakes
I am in search of a white frosting to use on my sisters wedding cake. The wedding will be outside in the end of June... There is no AC in the house, so I am afraid my buttercream frosting won't hold, and I don't want to take the chance! Can anyone direct me to some recipes?
Yep Indydebi's buttercream is grea tin heat and humidity. Just keep it in the shade though. I don't think anything will hold up to direct sunlight!
My recipe calls for 1/2 Alpine and 1/2 white margarine. I then use a mixture made with non-dairy creamer powder (1:1 boiled water and the non-dairy creamer powder) as my liquid. The rest of the recipe is still the same (i.e., powdered sugar, flavoring).

Check out my formula under my white ruffles cake. I live in the Cayman Islands where it is always hot and humid and the recipe that I use stands up to heat humidity and direct sunlight. Using a non dairy creamer is (as suggested in the other responses) is fantastic and work svery well. Good luck and try a few combinations and see what works best.
I've heard that ganache under fondant is best for extreme heat.
Thanks! I will look and try Indy's recipe! I am assured it will be in a porch, and if it ends up being a really hot day, I may pedestal it over a bed of ice. I am not a fan of fondant, but also, thank you again for all suggestions! Keep them coming!!

i am not seeing where u show any recipe in your albums?
When you state that you have something, or use something and that refers to another location. Either post the exact location, such as the exact website address, or like this one, it is under my cake. Well, we could search for days before finding it.
Post it on your website, and FaceBook is not your website, a true website. That way you can post the exact page that is under your domain.
