Does anyone know where I can buy a letter punch set to use with fondant?
I've looked everywhere and can't find a set. I'm looking for them to me no bigger than 1/2" tall and a pretty font, not a plain block font.
Any info would be very helpful!
Thank you!

I have seen it at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. My sister bought it last weekend and almost never figured out how to cut the letter out without it getting stuck in the cutter. The trick is to roll your fondant pretty thin and let it sit for a minute till its not so sticky then when you make your cut it should stay in the fondant like a cookie would and you can lift the fondant off of the letter. I hope this make sense to you.

I've seen lots of people use them on here and I can't find them either. Did most of you order them or did you buy them at a local store? I haven't even seen them at Michaels or Hobby lobby. I was starting to wonder if people were using scrapbooking tools.

I have the sets you are referring to and I know you can order them from www.cakecraftshoppe.com I think they are FMM cutters and they have them in upper case with numbers and lower case. Both sets work very well and they are the small pretty script you are wanting.

Here are the links to the actual cutters at cake craft. They are the FMM Tappit (european) sets.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I went through the same thing when I first started looking for them. The problem is they are called "tappits" which is the european name for them. A cc member from there is the one that guided me in the right direction. They are nice to use but one word of caution; If you don't cornstarch the letters reeeeaaallly well the fondant/gumpaste sticks inside them. Learned that the hard way and it only took once! icon_smile.gif

i got mine at Michael's. i dip the cutters in cornstarch first. the letters come out easy. and if they get stuck, i push them oout gently with the end of a brush.

Maybe you are confusing the exact type and brand of cutters you got at Michaels's with these? I have some letter toys from Michaels too but they are not the same as these FMM Tappits. If your local Michaels carries FMM you are one lucky person! Most people have to order FMM and JEM cake items unless they are fortunate enough to live in a large city with a large cake supply store. Where do you live? I am in the great Houston Texas area with many Michaels stores and unfortunately none of ours carries anything FMM or JEM.

Well, I ordered them because I want them so badly, but I REALLY don't like the idea of a company that won't tell you the shipping charges up front...

I know just what you mean. There is so much more I want but have to keep check because it is all rather expensive when you are purchasing tappits and certain molds. I have been buying on an "as needed" basis so it doesn't hurt so bad and I don't have stuff sitting around not being used. It IS so hard not to just buy it all though! icon_rolleyes.gif
