I used the Wilton plastic cake plates and drilled holes in them using the 1" spade drill bit. I had a wood circle for the base and did the same thing. HTH.
That stand looks like so much fun. Is/Was it hard to make?
it was pretty easy once I got it figured out. I also had some help from the hubby and his carpenter friend. I guess I can't take all the credit
If you look in my pics, I used that stand for 2 cakes.
shelbycompany--looks awesome! And, I love your pineapple upside-down cake, too.
haha
I have the PVC parts and boards but I only have a question: How is the last tier build? I mean, I know it has a 1" hole in it but how its the male coupler adjusted in it? does the board has a coupler in the inside so u can hand screw the male coupler or the board or maybe it has a flange attached under the board? would like any help. I've been looking for pictures on that bottom tier but havn't found any. Thanks.
