I use Satin Ice fondant for my cakes and I think it works great. I get a 20# tub for $76.99 and it lasts a good while - I think it works wonderfully. I have never tried to make MMF, but have heard great things about it also.

I haven't gotten it yet, but everyone recommends it over Wilton fondant. Heard it's a little more expensive, but the taste is worth it. Sorry I can't help more.

I use satin ice fondant and gumpaste. I also use MMF and rolled butter cream too. IMHO I think you should try it all and see what you perfer and what you like. They all have their pros and cons so really it's a personal choice more than anything. Gumpaste is used to make flowers and figures and other decorations too. So is mmf and rolled butter cream and all kinds of fondant. You can also do a 50/50 mixture of gumpaste and fondant to make things too. There just too many things you can to list them all. Do a search on satin ice, fondant, and gumpaste and you'll find all kinds of info and tips and ideas. Hope this helps you.

The first couple of times I had trouble with all of them! icon_lol.gif It just takes practise to discover the skills and hon in on them. So best advice I can give is practise, practise, practise. thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif I know I need to practise more myself!!!
