Tonight I made buttercream for a cake and glaze for cookies and both are gritty. Is it the brand of powdered sugar I'm using? I've used this brand before and haven't had problems, but tonight everything's gritty!

I have had this happen to me, as well as seen it poste in the forums a numerous amount of times! I don't know what to tell you except that I have used Dixie Crystal a thousand times and then one time my icing was like sand! icon_sad.gif I couldn't do anything to fix it! Sorry! icon_sad.gif

Thanks, Jae. I think I'll stop using this brand of powdered sugar.

OK, I went out and bought another brand of sugar and everything turned out well. I must've just gotten a bad batch of sugar, because I've used this brand before (Parade). I won't be using it again, though! LOL!

Thanks again for your help.

Glad you solved it. I was going to tell you to try another brand.
