Can I Freeze Cake Layers That Contain Fruit?

Please accept my apologies if I chose the wrong forum (I usually do!) but I didn't see the "general" forum that I believe used to be here.

I've frozen layers before (only for a week) with no problems, but I have several cakes that contain fruit in the batter....will they freeze ok? Anyone done this before?

I've frozen strawberry cupcakes without any issues. I would think it would be the same with actual cake layers.
