Layered Cake With Whip Cream Frosting

Is it possible to fill a cake that is to be iced with whipped cream or will it bulge?
Thanks,
Molly
I doubt what the final icing is matters. Construct the cake properly and it won't bulge.
Stiffen up some frosting if using a crusting type, and make a dam a little inside the margins of the cake. Fill it and put the top layer on. Then wrap it well and place a book or something on top to help it settle and allow it to sit for several hours that way. Then you can ice with whatever, and it shouldn't bulge.
