Do you really have to do it the Wilton's way ?
I do not do mine the Wiltons way.. there are other ways to do FOndant Roses besides Wiltons. I do what I am comfortable with as long as it comes out fine. But that's up to you. icon_smile.gif

As wilton instructors we are to teach the wilton way, but once our students are thru with their classes it's up to you to perfect your technique of making the rose. I have seen some beautiful cakes with roses that look real, I am sure they are not the wilton way. They have twice the number of petals and make you want to see if they smell as real as they look.

Yeah, I don't have to do it the Wilton way but as a Wilton student I had to learn the Wilton way. I guess you could say I learned the way, I just won't be using it. lol
Like I said before, my teacher approved of one rose, using the Wilton technique, so I'm clear to do what I want at this point. icon_wink.gif

We'll see how my drunken final cake comes out next week! icon_lol.gif

I really don't see me making many cakes with flowers in the future anyway. So far the only cakes with flowers I have made have been my class cakes.
