I just lost about 30 lbs (195 to 165) over the last 6 months. About 15 of that was post-pregnancy weight loss, so maybe that part doesn't count. I'm lucky in that I'm not a sweet tooth, so baking cakes and making icing doesn't tempt me. I taste a bite of the leveled part just to check, but that's it. The only idea I have to help with that is to chew gum maybe.

Exercise and portion control are the keys. I don't even use low-fat and diet foods. I think those trick people into thinking they can eat more. We eat hearty country foods, but just keep the portions reasonable.

It's hard also around toddlers not to finish their plates or eat a snack with them. My other secret is NO SODAS at all. Unsweetened flavored seltzer waters and black coffee and lightly sweetened iced tea are my new drinks. I used to think juices were healthy but look at all those calories! Now I only take 1 glass of OJ a day and no others. My other rule is no snacking, only veggies or a small fruit if needed.
