I've read before people used candy coating for the "cupcake liner" for the giant cupcakes...I'd like to do this I have the big top cupcake pan...the soft flexible, I melted the candy coating, poured it all around the bottom, and let it harden, but I couldn't get it out without the "liner" breaking....any tricks/tips??

or should I be using the hard wilton pan?

Could you turn the bottom part of the cake over (upside down) and pour melted candy melts (or whatever you're using) on it and coat it that way? Then let it harden and you'll have a cupcake "wrapper" on the cake?

I've never used the pan (only seen it in the store) so I don't know if that's possible or not.
