Can I cover a cake with SMBC with fondant over it, or will it be too soft? I love SMBC.
I do it all the time. Just put the frosted cake in the fridge so that the smbc hardens before covering with fondant. The heat from your hands with warm the smbc back up and adhere it to the fondant as you're smoothing it. HTH
stsapph is right. I now use SMBC under all of my fondant, because when you put it in the fridge first, you get the perfect corners!
I love SMBC too! It works great with fondant. The previous posters are correct about chilling the frosted cake before covering with fondant.
