I would like to make cookies as christmas gifts and something to do with the kids. I was wondering can you freeze the decorated cookies? For how long and does it affect the freshness or flavor?

Thanks,
Sherry

Yes, you can freeze them. I have frozen them many times for a month or so. I had one time that they tasted freezer burned, but I think I didn't have them wrapped well enough.

I packaged them well and froze them. Tasted funny and icing took on a freezer just burn look. Now I just bake and freeze. Decorate when I need them.

I also bake & freeze, then take out to decorate. I don't like the look of the icing after freezing it.
