I'm really struggling here...When icing a buttercream covered cake dummy, how thick should the icing be? Is it supposed to be a normal layer of buttercream or just enough to cover in the little holes in the styrofoam? Every time I put on a normal layer and go to bench scrape it, it wants to take all the icing off down to the dummy. This should not be this difficult... I have no trouble with real cakes.
Any thoughts or tips would be so great right now.
