Frosting Melting

I'm new at cake decorating so here's my question.
I baked some cupcakes, iced them and then placed them in one of those cupcake container. The next morning my icing was starting to melt off the cupcakes. I don't like my cupcakes cold, but do I have to put them in the refrigerator after icing them or should I have stored them a different way.

The cupcake containers are pretty airtight (so no air circulation) which causes the frosting to melt....

I think it is the recipe you used or perhaps the liquid was not measured properly. However unless we see the actual recipe it is hard to determine the cause. I agree with JanH that is not the container.

I refrigerate all my bake items.
