So, I've been asked to make a cake for a fundraiser for a non-profit organization. Their theme is "The Magic of a Smile." They want the colors to be black & white, with their signature colors of violet and light green. Any ideas? There is a black bow tie on the invitation and the inside of the envelope is violet with white polk-a-dots. It's a "cocktail attire" party, so I want it to be sophisticated, not kiddy. Help! icon_smile.gif TIA!

For a magic themed cake I would probably do a bag or a box of tricks with say playing cards, coins, silk scarves etc. Any of those could be in white and black or violet and green.

I always liked the idea of the black magic hat cake (with a rabbit coming out of it or whatever). I'm dying to make one of those myself! There are several in the galleries. I think it would go well with your theme/invitation ( black bow tie ) and you could easily incorporate the polk-a-dots on a scarf or something... have fun!
