I am making a chocolate fudge cake (topped with chocolate buttercream and tuxedo strawberries) for a reheasal dinner. I want to fill it with a strawberry filling. I saw someone say something in a thread (I believe about the white almond sour cream cake) that they made a filling with cream cheese, Cool Whip and preserves that was delicious. I have tried in vain to find that thread to make sure that I have it right. I have checked the recipe section with no luck.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm thinking of?????
If not, any yummy ideas would be greatly appreciated! icon_biggrin.gif

As soon as I went back to the recipes I found this other one. I hope one of these will do.

Serves/Yields:
Prep. Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time:
Category: Fillings
Difficulty: Easy

This is my new Strawberry Filling that I make. People go nuts over it and I have to admit I love it. I am not a fan of strawberry flavouring in things but this is good!

1 Can of Comstock Strawberry Pie Filling/Topping
1 8ounce package of Cream Cheese
1 Large Jar of Marshmellow Cream

Dump all in Mixer and mix well.

I tried that strawberry cream filling with the cream cheese and marshmallow cream, and had no luck. It never came together - it just stayed clumpy.

The filling I remember in the thread about white almond sour cream cake was a raspberry filling. I just made that (white almond sour cream cake with raspberry mousse filling) and it was delicious. You could substitute seedless strawberry preserves for the raspberry.

Here's the recipe:

8 oz cream cheese, softened
15 oz seedless raspberry (strawberry) preserves/fruit spread
8 oz tub cool whip

In mixer, blend cream cheese on medium until soft (about 2 min). Add fruit preserves and mix until combined. Add cool whip until combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.

I also have a strawberry cream cheese filling that is really yummy. If you'd like that, just PM me.

I have also done strawberry pie filling or preserves mixed into my buttercream... a little easier if you have regular BC on hand, but if you only had chocolate, I would go with other suggestions.. I think the cream cheese sounds yummy.... good luck!

I did one recently that was amazing! I took this recipe but did not add the sugar, I added 1 jar Polamer's Raspberry Preserves to the cream cheese before folding together. I would substitute Strawberry for the Rasp., it is awesome!

Mackays brand preserves has a strawberries and champagne flavor that is delicious straight from the jar. I combined it with fresh bananas and it was great!
