hi new to cake making cakes was wondering if i wanted make the cake and apply fondant 3 weks befor its needed how would i store it if i can thank you

Box cake. Wrap box in 2 layers of saran wrap, 1 layer of foil. Put wrapped box in garbage bag. Place in freezer.

24 hrs. before serving, place completely boxed & wrapped cake in refrigerator. Several hours before serving, place boxed & wrapped cake on counter to come to room temp. Immediately before display & serving, remove cake from wrapping & box. Eat cake.

You want to make and decorate the cake three weeks before it's needed.

The only method to keep a cake fresh that long is by freezing it.

its no going be covered in fondant its storing the cake before covering it

hank you for the advice much apreciated lots to learn.just learning basics because got a cake to make . for dawtas birthday just dont want leave till last minute like prep a week befor and cover with fondant all advice very much appreciated
