I make Buddy Valastro's (cake boss) vanilla cake recipe. The texture and mouthfeel are great but the recipe does not rise to a full 2 inches. I tried different 9x13 pans but still does not give me height.
These are the proportions, if it helps...
2 1⁄2 cups cake flour, 2 cups sugar, 3⁄4 cup vegetable oil, 2 1⁄4 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 1⁄2 teaspoon fine sea salt,
4 extra-large eggs, at room temperature, 1 cup whole milk
The recipe says it yields 2- 9 inch cakes or 24 cupcakes.
Can anyone please help me?? TIA!!

Yes, make an additional half recipe. Are you making it with the custard?
