How To Do The Petal Effect On Cakes

Im seeing these cakes that say petal effect. Does anyone know how to do this method...

I just cut off the tip of my piping bag and piped a big "dot" and took my spatula and pressed down and spread it to the right. Then I'd pipe another dot and would do the same thing over the entire cake. It's super fast and super easy. Have fun! =)

You can find it on mycakeschool.com in their blog. Go back 5 pages of "older posts, you'll find the tutorial. Basically it's a row of vertical dots (12 tip) then smashed/spread with a spatula. Pipe next row, etc, etc.
