I just realized i cannot get a 16" square cake pan in my oven, its wide enough but not deep enough. So ill need to bake 8 8" square cakes.

Does anyone know of a 8" x 16" pan, like the half circle cake pan you can get? Ive checked with Fat Daddios and they dont have one and said they would need to sell thousand for it to be worth making that size. Surely im not the only one that could use a 8x16 cake pan.

A half of a 16" square pan sounds like a good ideasorry, I've never heard that anyone makes them though.

If your 16" square has the flat edge lip around it, you can bend them upwards on two sidessometimes that's just enough modification to be able to get the oven door closed. If not, I'm sure eight 8" squares will work out just fine... good luck.

Just a suggestion.. Stop by one of the local churches or community centers.. most have commercial kitchens, and see if they allow you to bake your 16" cake. Even if for a small fee, it might be worth it and it cost nothing to ask.
