The Color Red??

I need to color buttercream dark red....any ideas on how not to get pink? Thanks in advance.

Hiya,the Wilton no-taste red is a good one. I usually use pink to get a base colour and then add red until you get the colour you want. Reason for this is you can use an entire pottle of red otherwise! Good luck.

Start by colouring it pink, then add a concentrated red like Americolor Super Red, mix it to a couple of shades lighter than you want it to be. Then leave it to intensify overnight.

Thanks, started with pink, it got fairly red, red enough.

If you want bright red, start from orange not pink.
