Canadians, Where Do You Buy Your Fondant?
Baking By sugarmommy Updated 26 Jan 2007 , 3:15am by Khess
Hi all,
I'm new to this site (and baking!) and I love all of the information.
I would like to buy ready made fondant for sugar cookies. What do you use (besides Wiltons) and where do you buy it?
I'm in BC if that helps, but I don't mind having it shipped. Is there anywhere in Canada for Satin Ice or Fondx or any others that you recommend? Or where do you order it from the states?
Thanks so much!! ![]()
Hey there
I am in Toronto, I can get Satin Ice at Bulk Barn, but I hate the taste and consistency. I make my own MMF, it is easy to make and it tastes great.
Good luck

McCall's in Etobicoke. Comes in 3 sizes of pails (1 kg/5 kg/10 kg) and three flavours of white (vanilla), ivory (white chocolate) and dark brown (chocolate).
*** The ivory rocks and it can go in the fridge!! Awesome for summer.***
don't you need to have a license to shop there or is it open to the public?
Hi there
Im from Toronto, just moved to BC a few months ago. ive heard you can get fondant at this place called Scoop and Save in Langly.
I visited a wholesale place near my house in Burnaby. Its called Nicholson's equipment and they are only open to whoesale and business so you need a gst # etc to shop from them.
Thank you all very much! I think I'll try the local route in Langley first. Hopefully it will save me from having to ship from Ontario. You are all so helpful! Thanks again!!
Hello, I'm in Edmonton and pick up some decorating and baking things at Qzina. They have a store in Vancouver as well and they do commercial sales as well as small home baking sales. Their website is http://www.qzina.com and I find the prices reasonable. As for fondant, I make my own MMF as the Wilton stuff tastes very chemically.
Hope that helps.
