I have been making mmf since I started using fondant in my decorating. Since I have started up my own business and have a tax id to purchase wholesale, I got some Satin Ice and WHOLLY CANNOLI! That stuff is great to work with! I love it! I don't know if I will ever make MMF again!
Those of you who buy wholesale, where do you buy with good prices and affordable shipping. I am in Plano TX. Anyone know if there is someplace close by?

I think the new wilton is just as nice to work with without the high prices....just my op
I've worked with satin ice and really liked it too. I've tried mmf but I'm not a fan. It covers cakes great but I don't like it for decorations( even with tylose & added sugar). Satin ice is expensive so i tried Mary fosters fondant recipe that I found on this site. LOVED IT! Worked great to cover & model....very similar to satin ice. HTH
The new wilton tastes ALOT better. I've been using a mixer of duff and wilton to get a more pilable fondant... I forgot who makes the duff fondant.. I know its one of the big brands

Fondarific.
I also like Fondx. Less expensive than other brands and easy to work with. I tried Satin Ice and didn't like it at all. It dries out quickly and you also end up with what others call elephant skin. I also tried Fondarific they have great flavors but it is extremely pricey. I plan to stick with Fondx from now on.
I really like FondX. It performs beautifully and tastes very similar to Satin Ice. There is a wholesale bakery supply place near my home that sells it at wholesale + tax. You can purchase from
CalJavaonline.com OR http://shop.sweetwise.com/fondx-virgin-white-10.html
Both companies are currently having a sale on 10 lb. tubs of FondX.
