I made a white 12 inch round cake I let it cool over night I frosted one layer then when I went to frost the 2nd layer I flipped the layer on top of the first one and my cake just crumbed what did I do wrong I've never had this happened I very nervous about this happing

Cakes are fragile...
Did you level both cake layers?
Did you place the cake layer on a cake board or cookie sheet when transferring?
