before they are fondanted should they be buttercreamed??

The only thing you need to do is soften the upper edges by sanding lightly or rubbing against the counter top or rolling pin. This helps to prevent the fondant from tearing. To stick the fondant to the dummy spritz a bit of water on it or you can rub the dummy with some shortening.
