Ugh, I know what you mean!! Sometimes the cakes for guys are the worst because you don't want them to be too feminine. Here's the last one I did. The rosettes made it seem feminine to me, but it turned out decent I guess.

This is the one that surprised me! I did this chocolate heart's desire cake for a lady and honestly, it's become the runaway favorite for my male clients! Go figure!! So I make it a tad more masculine by making the cake square. Gilded rosed never struck me as very masculine, but that's what they want!! http://cakecentral.com/gallery/320473
