I'm making a transformer cake for my son's party. We've sculpted Optimus Prime out of rice crispie treats, but I need to cover it in fondant and add all the fondant finishing touches. His party is in a week, but I'd like to do it ahead of time. How many days before hand can I do all the fondant work, and once it's done, how do I store it to prevent cracking?

Hi there,

I am fare from a pro and am still learning the basics but when i make anything with fondant i store in an air tight container. And it does pay to do it in advance then that way you know it is gona set.

I think if its gona crack its gona crack but apparently the best thing to do is add tylose powder or gumpaste which helps it harden. But i am not too sure on the cracking part. I hope some one who has skills answers your question for you and then i can get a couple of hints on the cracking part aswell.

Good luck.
