Hi lastingmoments,

Was hoping that you would post. I left you a message in the "Pricing a stand-up doll cake" post.

Are you talking about the gummy bears?

yeah gummy bears/worms/ creatures......
I think its this site that always makes me look at something and try to find another way to make or build it......I think I have a serious problem here....and its rubbing off on my DD she wants to be a cake and candy maker when she grows up.

Sorry I forgot to check back on the other post,
Thank you......I left you the story in the other post.

WOO HOO!!!!
I was searching google and found one.
Now if any of you have gummy molds or any mold for fondant etc....if you want to try ...here you go .

I think that I will try tommarrow
GUMMY BEARS

1 package sugar free Jello, any flavor
6 packages gelatin powder, unsweetened, unflavored
1/2 cup cold water

In a small saucepan, mix flavored and unflavored gelatin. Stir it up. Pour
cold water in, stir with spatula until you have a gloppy-chunky blob, not
unlike play-doh. Turn heat on medium, melt blob. Stir obsessively until
melted. Pour into miniature bear molds. Stick in freezer for 10 minutes
to cool. If you don't have Miniature bear molds, do this: take the rack
out of your toaster oven and put it on the counter. Drape a big sheet of
aluminum foil over it. Cram the aluminum foil down into the gaps, leaving
striplike molds. Presto! Gummy worms.

Please let me know if this works! This could be my new addiction since I LOVE gummy bears. Looking at the recipe, these would be sugar-free. I hope they tast good. Please let me know how they turn out if you try them.

Thanks!

ok i made the gummy bears (shapes) tonight and i only had regular jello instead of suger free and they tasted great ...the texture and flavor was alot better than the ones that come in the kit from wilton so I highly reccomend this recipe.

only since it has to be cooked the bottle was hooter so I needed to help my little one with this.

everything is the same as the above recipe but instead of 6pks its only 2 icon_smile.gif i got this off of cakesbyjan website

1 small (3 oz.) package flavored gelatin (flavor of your choice)
2 packets unflavored gelatin (I used knox®)
1/2 cup water

Stir together in small saucepan, heat just until the sugar has dissolved. Pour into clean, dry molds. Place in freezer for 5 minutes. When firm remove gummys from molds - you'll have to pull them out -- the kids will do it for you. Gummys have a one week shelf life.

Ill try tommarow.......i did wonder how long they would last while i was cooking, that was until i saw they were all eaten and gone before we unmolded them ......lol

I guess we love gummies around here.

but the way i figure .70 cents is better then the 4.99 for the refill kit! so Im happy

Will the unused melted mix stay liquid until your molds are empty again? Like if you have too much gummy mix for the molds you have.

Can you use any candy/chocolate mold? Will it ruin them for chocolates?

Thanks, I can't wait to try!
