I was wondering if anyone has ever used blackberry or strawberry jelly for a filling? If so, would you just mix it with your buttercream frosting?

I have used strawberry and raspberry preserves for filling between layers. I didn't mix with buttercream.
I like to use strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and apricot jelly as a filling. Choose a high quality brand with chunks of real fruit. I make my own because I live in Oregon where berries are very abundant and nothing beats homemade.
