I found a recipe here on Cake Central it is Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes. Here is the link http://cakecentral.com/recipes/1972/durable-cake-for-3d-and-wedding-cakes
To make marble cake just use two different cake mixes. I used 2 white.yellow cake mixes and one chocolate and divide the chocolate between the two white/yellow ones.
The recipe is awesome! it stays moist and carves well.

Agreed, use the Durable Cake and the Chocolate durable cake -- marble it and you will have a great cake for carving.
