I have a request for a cake with strawberry and pineapple filling. The customer wants the strawberries and pineapples together, so what kind of base flavor should I use?

A nice Vanilla Bean cake would be wonderful. Subtle, and it would let the filling really sing.

This sounds really good, and I agree that the cake should be more subdued to really bring out the strong filling flavors.

Oops, I meant to say what kind of filling base. The cake base is going to be vanilla, but I don't know if I should use a glaze with the fruit or what. HELP!!!!

Lightly pureed (re: chunky) with a whip cream base. Super yum! And in a vanilla cake, to die for! It will taste like a slice of heaven!
