I have been asked to do a 12"decorated cookie for a little girl's birthday and I have no idea what to charge for it. Has anyone made one for a customer? Do you use a round cookie sheet? I am not a cookie person so any help will be greatly appreciated. icon_biggrin.gif
Thanks

Here is a link to the wilton site to help you with the directions...this is assumimg you want a choc chip cookie. If you want a sugar cookie just roll it out and cut the shape using a template you draw on poster board or something. It will need to bake longer so just watch it well.

http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/cookierecipes/chocchip_giantpan.cfm

For pricing i would say between $25 to $35 based on how much decoration. Mrs Filed's charges 34.99 for a choc chip with just happy birthday on it.

I bought a big pizza pan from walmart. It's what I bake my big cookies on.

I have a great old recipe for a Cookie Pizza made with cereals, M&M's and of course chocolate if you are interested. This could be used as a large cookie with the child's name piped in the center.

I made a regular chocolate chip cookie dough recipe and pressed it into a 12" round cake pan that had parchment on the bottom. I baked it for about 15 to 18 minutes and let it cool in the pan. I popped it out and put it in a disposable pizza pan I got at the store.

birdgirl-does it come out of the pan easy and not break?

I have not had one break yet. I am careful when I take it out. I use support the cookie with my hand and flip it out and then place the pizza pan on it and turn it over. If the cookie is more fragile use your hand to support it will turning it onto the back side of a regular cookie sheet then put the pizza pan on it and slide your hand under the cookie sheet flip the whole thing. If it doesn't make sense I can try to explain better.

I understand. I think I will try it this weekend before the big day. I have another question how many servings do you normally get out of one? My client is asking me and I have no clue. icon_cool.gif
Thanks

I have not served one, but the people that have ordered one from me get 12 to 16 servings. 12 is large peices and 16 is more managable.

To FMCMULLE & ZORAYA: Here's the recipe for the Chocolate Pizza I promised you two days ago. The recipe is from Southern Living over ten years ago. I made it for my children for sleepovers and used different colored M & M's. The recipe is for a Christmas theme color, but any color will work.

Chocolate Pizza

From Southern Living (10+ years ago)

1/4 lb Chocolate-Flavored Candy Coating
1 1/2 (12-ounce) Package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
3 C Miniature Marshmallows
3 C Chocolate Flavored Corn Puff Cereal
1 C Peanuts
½ C Red M & Ms
½ C Green M & Ms
1 (2-ounce) Square Vanilla Flavored Candy Coating
1 tsp Vegetable Oil

Melt chocolate candy coating and chocolate morsels in a saucepan over low heat, stirring often. Remove from heat. Add marshmallows, cereal, and peanuts; stir until coated. Pour mixture into a well-greased 12-inch pizza pan; sprinkle with candies and, if desired coconut.

Melt vanilla candy coating with oil over low heat, stirring often. Drizzle over pizza. Let cool at room temperature or chill until firm.

Cover and store at room temperature.

Cut into squares or wedges.

Yields 20 servings

Enjoy! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif
