Royal Icing Stencil Tips?
Decorating By EnglishCakeLady Updated 29 Jun 2011 , 10:10pm by EnglishCakeLady
I'm just about to try my first ever stenciling with royal icing. I've watched a tutorial video and can see the process but wondering if anyone has any tips they have gained through experience? The stencil is for the side of a round cake, a damask pattern and I plan to use black royal icing.
I just did my first stencil and tried the tip about using a tiny bit of shortening on each corner of the stencil to help hold it down. It worked really well but only if you're stencilling onto fondant.
Ah, yes. I should have said - I will be stenciling onto fondant, so that's a great tip! Thank you.
