I want to do the round leather jacket cakes that I have seen on here for a couple of my biker buddies that are moving away. Do you have to dry the fondant pockets and accents? This is the first time I have ever worked with fondant at all. Thank you for any tips you can give me.
You only have to dry the parts you want to stand up, like the collar and the zipper pull. Things like the pockets, sleeves and studs can go on as they are. You might want to do some of these details in gumpaste, which will keep its shape nicer (and the parts that need drying will dry faster and harder, too).
