Cupcake Buttercream Colours

.a friend has asked me to make cupcakes with purple buttercream. As buttercream is cream colour,what colour do i use to make purple?

Just using purple should work fine, use a gel color.

Just get the dark purple and start with a little, and then use more if you need it darker.
And use the gel, for me it does better.

And remember it will get darker/deeper as it settles & dries
