Hey everyone I am doing a cake for my friends daughter who is in love with Kai Lan, I wanted the characters to look as good as the cake and since I am covering it in fondant I wanted them in fondant too but they are not working out the way I wanted. Any ideas on how I can make it look cohesive without having to pull out the old school look of piped buttercream.
you can make a stencil out of the picture of Kai Land out of each of the parts, like her hair, face, eyes ect individually and use them as a template to cut out the pieces and then stick them back together like a puzzle.. or you can do buttercream and look up frozen buttercream transfer... HTH
What's happening to your characters? Are they flat or 3d standing?
Not sure what your cake is like but there is a 3d figure one here....

and a 2d one here...

Hope they help in some way, but if not, post more details on the problems you're having and I'm sure the site will help!
Good luck and hope you have fun
